Belonging-(N)Less

(Ongoing Project)

The visual minds and memories of war victim children have generally been oriented towards the subject of war and associated with it. This work is about my perception, even after many years, of the memories of the war and migration that I had experienced as a young child. As it was not possible to go back to the place of my summer holidays physically, I went back again and again in my memories for many years. In a way, I believe, this is a summary that shaped my thinking and discourse, as well as my perception of the world today.

My aim in this work is to use photography as a method to question the images and emotions, which are engraved in my memory, that have influenced me for many years through remembrance. In a way, this study is to present the internal images of my past experiences reflected in the present. I intend to interpret and reproduce my inner world under the influence of the past, as it is perceived with my senses today.
